Happy New Year:
As a happy new year approaches, we say goodbye to 2016. Harbourview Property Management has gone through a lot of positive changes in the past year, and we have, as always, learned more than we could have predicted.
We started 2016 continuing our snow removal contracts from the 2015/16 season, and though the year had been relatively kind to us (compared to years past), we still had a few storms that took their toll. Late in March we got hit with a devastating storm that left us with drifts over 4 feet high, but even that couldn’t stop us.
By April Harbourview acquired a new shop and office location to really kick off our new year. Located at 8963 Hwy 93 it proved to be far more centralized than our previous set ups. It was a game changer to say the least. A variety of hard work and odd jobs around the new location have substantially paid off throughout the year. I can’t tell you enough how nice it is to be writing this in the new office, or how much better it is to fix equipment in our shop vs 20 degrees below on the back of a trailer.
Our maintenance crews have been put to the test as far as variety goes. They have done everything from cutting grass, to removing over 800lbs of kitty litter from a property, to helping our renovation crews pull off some incredible custom hardscaping.
Beginning in the spring Harbourview performed with flying colours as we tackled a new playground installation. We removed the old equipment, prepped the area for the new installation (including rerouting of sprinkler systems), then built and installed the new equipment. This was all done in true Harbourview style; in time and under budget!
Early this year our management division gained the opportunity to tenant a residential complex totaling 33 units. Though it was a daunting and uphill battle, our team was able increase this landlord’s yearly income by over $75000!
2016 was an amazing year for Harbourview Property Management. Our team has dealt with what seems like everything. From placing buoys in Georgian Bay, to laying tile on a 60ft luxury boat, from cutting down trees to, dealing with biohazard teams to clean apartments, it’s hard to imagine what the New Year will bring. But rest assured that no matter what our customers can dream up, Harbourview Property Management will handle it. After all, you’re busy. Let us do the work!
